Alberta Biodiesel Association
Function
The Alberta Biodiesel Association (ABA) is a non-profit organization established to:
- promote the use of biodiesel through education, outreach and regular meetings;
- provide for the exchange of relevant information with other interested organizations, but avoid endorsing any individual, company, process or commercial product;
- recommend biodiesel as a viable alternative source of renewable energy benefiting economic development and environmental sustainability;
- encourage production, storage and handling compliance in accordance with acceptable and designated regulatory industry standards.
History
Recognizing the importance and increased acceptance of biodiesel as an alternative source of fuel, John Rilett (Program Manager for Climate Change Central, Alberta) proposed the formation of the Alberta Biodiesel Association in February 2006. At the inaugural on March 14, 2006 and the following parties were elected to the indicated Board positions:

The ABA was officially incorporated with the Alberta Government on July 25, 2006 under Corporate Registry No 5012578299.
With the subsequent resignation of Dale Ness, Patrick Luft and Gary Tomlinson, the following were accepted as additional Board Members in 2006/2007:
